My yoga journey
I started doing yoga seriously in 2009 when I was living in London and going through quite an intense time. I was experiencing what I now understand to be panic attacks and one day was drawn off a busy road in east London into a welcoming dark space that turned out to be a yoga studio. Not really knowing what I was doing I took part in the class and felt a tremendous sense of safety and rest. From then on there were often days I didn’t didn’t feel like practicing but somehow my feet kept walking me back to that studio, as if my brain hadn’t quite caught up with my body.
Much later in 2019, another era, and having leaned on and been sustained by a yoga practice for many years I felt compelled to deepen my knowledge of yoga and to be able to share it with others - I became a teacher!
Teaching is a privilege and a joy - I love to share my knowledge thus far, learn from my students and be a part of someone’s journey into this incredible, ancient practice.

What can you expect from a yoga class?
A typical yoga class will start with gentle breathing exercises, to situate you in the present and prepare your body for practice. We then move through a warm up ‘sequence’ which is a group of poses strung together. You will likely learn how to do a sun salute, followed by some more exploration of a key posture, often broken down into easy to learn actions. We finish with a calming sequence to wind down and will lie on our mats at the very end for a few minutes of ‘Savasana’ - complete relaxation.
All yoga mats and props are provided, however if you have your own mat please bring it. Wear comfortable, easy to move in clothes (no jeans). Usually we do yoga in bare feet. Bring water if desired.

My Training
I completed my Yoga Alliance 200 Hrs certification with Orange Studio in Cheltenham in 2020. It was a fantastic chance to learn from a range of amazing teachers headed up by Ian Davis. They inspired and challenged me, and I continue to further my training through their 500 Hr Advanced certificate (ongoing).
